AMIGA has grown in many wonderful ways over the past nine years and twenty five brigades. We continue to be A very important Mission In God’s Amor to each of our patients, and to each of our team members from both the US and Honduras. As we develop, we learn, and we deepen our gratitude for the many who have helped this mission become a beautiful channel through which we touch the lives of many.
As this organization flourishes, we see clearly that AMIGA needs a new home. This building campaign is essential.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8
As we see the need to build, we are looking for opportunities in a location that is more safe for our groups and will allow for the construction of a functional AMIGA home. We have outgrown the home we built in 2008 , utilizing every inch of space. The space we currently own will be used for much needed storage space. We significantly support local businesses in our town as well and want our new home to be in the same area. Furthermore, our new home will allow for better and safer organization and storage of our medications – a big part of each medical brigade; and for safe residence of our brigade members with adequate space to allow for larger groups so we are not forced to again have to turn anyone away (we can currently only host 10 females and 4 males). We also seek to provide better work areas for organization and planning for each brigade.
Each contribution is a rung on the ladder to our new AMIGA home which will enable us to continue this important work in Honduras. With each brigade, we are inspired by our team members from Honduras and United States …and by each patient and child for whom we are privileged to care and love. The strength of AMIGA comes from the union of many who are part of this mission. When there is collaboration, on God’s Course with the will of The Spirit, wonderful and amazing things can be achieved.
We very much appreciate your consideration in helping us attain this dream with a goal of raising $300,000.
AMIGA has been a blessing to many both here in the US and in Honduras. We hope to continue this mission reaching more and accomplishing more, as we faithfully remain A Mission In God’s Amor.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Although it is at times overwhelming, we look to the future with great anticipation and excitement. We are growing, with profound gratitude to many who make this Amazing Mission In God’s Amor not only possible but truly awesome… in God’s Hands. Overwhelmed is where God wants us to be – with a recognition that all things are of and from God and nothing is impossible WITH Her/Him. Slowly but surely, our land is looking more like a future home for AMIGA. We are grateful for the blessing of many great neighbors and new amigo/a’s. And we humbly submit a “muchisimas gracias” to Aliand Ingris – for their supervision when we are not there, for the water and sandwiches to the workers, for their friendship. We are making progress on our land purchase. We had to have the diseased trees cut down, and are now working on preparing the land for a foundation for trees and our new AMIGA home, with a protective wall around the property.
THANK YOU to all of our supporters.
